Maca (Lepidium Meyenni) is one of the few edible plants that grow at high altitudes (over 3800m) in the Peruvian Andes. It is one of the healthiest foods and one of the most popular superfoods. For centuries people have been using it for boosting their immune system, energy, strength & endurance, as well as enhancing their fertility. It is very nutritious, rich in amino acids, minerals and essential nutrients. Containing high amounts of iron and calcium, it contributes in improving metabolic processes. Iron, is necessary for oxygen transport in the blood. Iron is the central atom of the heme group, a metal complex that binds molecular oxygen (O2) in the lungs and carries it to all of the other cells in the body (e.g., the muscles) that need oxygen to perform their activities.
Greenbay’s Maca is unprocessed, raw and you can enjoy it with cereals, yogurt, milk, smoothies, cocoa, coffee or tea. It can be also used in soups and sauces or to prepare homemade raw chocolate.
We suggest 1-2 teaspoons a day, an amount that you can increase or decrease according to your personal needs.
